Taupo is six weeks away. I am yet to enter. Have you entered?
I'm not sure why I keep putting it off. But that is the plan for this weekend - enter Taupo. And ride my bike. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Next week, while every other university student in the country is going to be frantically studying, I am off to Nelson. I am looking forward to long sunny days, beautiful scenery and hundreds of people on bikes. (Do you hear that Nelson? I am expecting sun!)
Next week Nelson is hosting the club road nationals. It is where the New Zealand's club riders get the chance to show each other what they are made of.
I am excited (not only to be away from Wellington and its crap weather) but to get to see some of New Zealand's best cyclists in action. Club nationals are great because anyone who rides a bike for a club in New Zealand can race - not just our elite cyclists.
This is going to be a great spectator event, so I recommend that if you can, you come down and support the people who are the backbone of cycling in New Zealand.
For those of you who are far from Nelson I will be blogging about the action and uploading results to RideStrong. Keep watching this space. Let me know who you are supporting and I will make sure to cheer extra loudly for them (I can be very vocal!)
I have no doubt that this event is going to inspire me to spend more time on my bike!
