Been cycling (as a commuter) for almost a year now. I do about 90 - 120km's a week on my Avanti Blade 8 which has the 8 speed enclosed hub. Nice and easy for maintenance. Recently did a 60km charity run and raised $1,030. It's been about 35 years since I rode a bike as a kid and I am impressed with the way gear has advanced. The brakes even work in the wet and you don't have those stupid dynamo driven lights. I'm thinking of getting some clip in pedals and getting prepared for the Lake Taupo Challenge next year. Great way to keep fit, see the country and save money.
