Serious Cycling and lots of Brocolli

It has been two weeks since my first post and most things have been going well - except for cycling up college hill which is still a real mission. I want to thank all the people who have given me feedback which has been pretty encouraging and have made me do some serious cycling.

The support has been great and I have had a couple of emails offering me tips and advice specifically on training and nutrition, I always appreciate the advice. In particular I want to thank the person who said that my bike looked a bit like a nana's bike. I want reassure him that I will not be competing on that bike - mine will be far more swanky. In fact my current bike is causing me a few problems so I am looking at an upgrade but am undecided as a decent racing bike will set me back quite a few pingers and could cost more than a car. If anyone has any tips on what bike I could consider getting then drop me an email.

Nutrition wise I am making a huge effort - except for nachos and jaffas which I will not be giving up - I am eating a lot more healthy food such as my fav broccoli and rice combo and I have been cutting back on the energy drinks.

I am going to purchase an el-cheapo exercycle for my office as well - then I can cycle and read simultaneously. The travel between Auckland and Wellington has been slightly inhibiting on my training but I have been getting out a bit and I am looking forward to a bit of a training run around Lake Taupo in the next few weeks.

Thanks again to the people who have sent me messages of support,

Nikki.
